The Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) has granted us a subsidy of €37,627.10, which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) at a rate of 60% through the ERDF Operational Program of the Valencian Community, for this project titled "RESEARCH OF NEW ADVANCED TECHNICAL YARNS," with file number IMIDTA/2023/33, submitted to the PIDI-CV program.
The objective of this project has been the research and development of a new range of DREF technical yarns, mainly made from recycled raw materials, for use in electrical cables, providing protection and insulation in cable coverings and serving as filler for inner cords.
The development of this project has focused on innovating the materials that compose the yarns, with glass yarns in the core and recycled fibers (recycled p-aramid and recycled acrylic fibers) on the exterior. Technically, the new yarns meet the relevant specifications for use in electrical cables, which include being 100% fireproof, highly flexible, resistant to degradation, light, and water, non-conductive, and resistant to rodents, shot pellets, and other threats that electrical cables may face in everyday use.
Finally, the project has been successfully completed, expanding the use of recycled raw materials and offering a more sustainable alternative (based on recycled materials) to the current petrochemical materials used for the proposed purposes.
